OCE is a logical common sense approach tutorial website and platform designed specifically for beginning youth fast pitch softball players, ages 8-12, their parents, and coaches. Guarding against the many pitfalls of starting, re-enforcing, and continuing BAD HABITS in pitching, fielding, hitting, and throwing. OCE wants all players to have an opportunity to become successful, not just the players with inborn talent.

OCE’s purpose is to expose a lot of the misinformation, disinformation, myths, folklore, and traditional beliefs associated with youth fast pitch softball training. Here at OCE, we want to emphasize this point and leave no room for ambiguity. We are not attacking other coaches and instructors on a personal basis but rather on a professional basis. We are simply challenging their philosophy, concept, and the effectiveness of what they are teaching and promoting online and in person. Unfortunately, there is a lot of bad advice that sounds good being given on social media and through private lessons. A lot of coaches and instructors out there mean well and have good intentions. But there is an old wise saying: “The road to hell is paved with a lot of good intentions!” – I often refer to those good intentions as the “Pre-Columbus Era” of fast pitch softball teaching and thinking. An era where many scholars thought and taught that the world was flat, and it was widely accepted. But the world is not flat; the world is round.

OCE’s way is not the only way, it’s a diverse way, unlike in kind or character to all others. But we believe it’s the best, the most realistic, the most efficient, the quickest, and produces the best results. Hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, throwing, and base running are not complicated once you acquire the knowledge. It’s complex, consisting of multiple layers, parts, and components, but by no means complicated. It’s like that old saying about math, “I love math when I understand it!” OCE’s goal is to help beginning players, parents, and coaches gain a better understanding of how anatomy, mechanics, and techniques play an essential role in the art of hitting, pitching, fielding, throwing, and base running through our OCE Softball Instructional and Training Videos.

OCE places more emphasis on outcome rather than income. OCE’s APPROACH is a unique and innovative approach to educating and training beginning youth fast-pitch softball players, their parents, and coaches. Instead of first fixating on what should be taught. We are going to first start by critically examining and placing emphasis on what should not be taught. We focus on the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement. We demonstrate how one movement significantly impacts the next movement (a series of sequences). We apply logic and basic common sense. We systematically analyze and break down pitching, hitting, fielding, throwing, and base running into a science.

We place more emphasis on teaching versus showing. The old Chinese proverb: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” OCE Our first series of videos is called BREAKING BAD HABITS. Which consists of two parts. The first part is identifying bad habits, and the second part is breaking bad habits. In the videos, we will examine the most commonly taught bad habits of pitching, hitting, fielding, and throwing. And the best way to break a bad habit is not to start it in the first place. We hope you will find our Identifying & Breaking Bad Habits videos helpful and informative.

Remember—”Change is inevitable, growth is optional.” – John C. Maxwell. When learning something new, we have to get COMFORTABLE being UNCOMFORTABLE in the beginning.
